Security and custody
Insire is non-custodial. Here is what it asks of your wallet, what it never does and what is stored on your device.
On this page
Insire does not hold your keys or your funds. The only money movement it can ask for is a deposit you start on the Portfolio page and sign yourself.
What Insire does with your wallet#
| Action | Insire asks your wallet to… |
|---|---|
| Connect | Share your public address and current network. |
| Link a trading account | Sign a short message that contains only a timestamp. |
| Deposit | Approve the token, then sign the deposit. Both happen in your wallet, on Ethereum. Insire does not hold the funds. |
| Trade | Nothing. Orders are signed in the trading app, not in Insire. |
What Insire never does#
- It never asks for your seed phrase or private key. No legitimate site does.
- The only transaction it asks for is a deposit you start. That is a token approval, then the deposit, both signed in your wallet.
- It never asks you to sign typed data to connect or link.
- It never places, cancels or edits an order.
- It has no server that stores your address, balances or positions. Insire is a static web app.
Read-only account sessions#
Linking opens a session that can read your account. It cannot trade. It exists only while the page is open and it ends when you unlink, disconnect your wallet or close the tab. Read the steps on Link your trading account.
What is stored on your device#
Insire keeps these items in your browser's local storage, and nothing else:
| Item | Why |
|---|---|
| Display settings and chain columns | So the terminal looks the way you left it. |
| Sidebar and notice state | So panels you collapsed or dismissed stay that way. |
| The last wallet you connected | So it can reconnect without a popup. |
| The last trading account address you linked | So the link dialog can pre-fill it. |
Clear your browser's site data to remove all of it.
Third-party resources#
The site loads fonts from third-party font services and the terminal connects to the market data feed. Your browser makes those requests directly, so those services can see your IP address as they would for any website. Your wallet extension is your wallet's own software and is not controlled by Insire.
Good habits#
- Check the address bar before you connect a wallet.
- Bookmark the site instead of following links from messages.
- Use a wallet you trust and keep its software up to date.
- Only trade in the trading app after you have checked the contract, size and price shown there.
